The trick has always been to find a publication that is interested, or to convince them they should be interested.Golden Isle Magazine, a regional magazine in Georgia, was working on a feature about restoring old homes. I leveraged preservation and restoration work done by a Historic Preservation professor and his students to secure placement in the article.
